a) Anxiety disorders
● Initial : 2-3 mg oral tablet once every eight to twelve hours as required, which should not exceed 10 milligrams in a day.
● Maintenance : lorazepam dosage is around 2-6 milligrams in a day, which should be taken orally and divided once, every eight to twelve hours.
● Geriatric : The dosage of the tablet should be lower as per recommendation, maximum 1-2 milligrams orally, which should be divided once every eight to twelve hours.
b) Short term : Insomnia treatment
● 2-4 milligrams taken orally during bed.
● Geriatric – The lorazepam dosage should be very low as recommended, 0.5 to 1 milligrams orally at bedtime, which should be increased as per requirement.
