Description LONG SANDS BEACH, YORK MAINE ~~~ looking northeast towards the Nubble. If you were to zoom in, you can see the lighthouse at the tip of the outcropping. The beach in question is approximately a mile and a half of hardpacked sand. Cool side story: biplanes of yesteryear used to land on this beach and to deliver the town its Airmail. The group I hung around with (Webber Road or thereabouts) seemingly had this beach all to ourselves. Jimmy and T.J. are no longer with us, but I'm sure their impact still resides somewhere in the ebb and flow of what once was an idyllic setting. :)
