Description
Santo Domingo is the capital of the Dominican Republic and one of the Caribbean’s oldest cities. It was the first city I traveled to coming to this country. Santo Domingo truly is the best and worse of the island, and experiencing both is very easy for tourist, so be smart! There is so much to see and do in “La Capital” , from visiting Its walled, cobblestoned historic core, the Zona Colonial and all the vendors selling native items, to walking down the Malecon and experiencing the beauty of the ocean an simultaneously watching this incredible city operate . If you want to experience beach life while in Santo Doming, just 20 minutes away is Boca Chica, where beach life and city life merge. While Santo Domingo may seem like a fairly advanced city, don’t forget your in the capital of a 3rd world country and its residence are generally poor and modest folks. So, as a tourist, your modesty will make sure that you have an enjoyable trip.
