DescriptionThe Alarm was a band that didn't make it all that big, always being compared to U2. I think they had some excellent songs. And live a force to be reckoned with. This is their best song, about being kids, becoming friends, forming a band ,visiting Liverpool, and seeing the sign about the Beatles, 4 lads who shook the world. Singer Mike Peters( Welsh) battled cancer for three decades. He was first diagnosed with lymphoma in 1995. In 1996, Peters made a recovery from lymph cancer. In 2022, his chronic lymphocytic leukaemia had returned. He died from the illness on 29 April 2025 at the age of 66. In 1986, in the middle of the height of the fame of the Alarm, whilst based in London during the week, Peters was still living with his parents in Rhyl. Having hitch-hiked home one weekend, he met his future wife, Jules, then an undergraduate student at Bangor University studying English. The couple were engaged two weeks later, and had two sons. The family lived in Dyserth, North Wales.
