'FAUN have been an important part of the international medieval scene for over ten years and with their music they opened their own gateway to the worlds of emotions and thoughts of that time. The band combines romantic and mythical medieval music quotes with musical influences of the present to create modern German-speaking medieval folk.
The new album "Midgard" illuminates the mythology of the Germanic peoples and Vikings. All of this happens in the band's unique world of sound, which, as usual, comes from a skilful mixture of folk, medieval sounds, pop and experimental electronic sound columns. It is mainly songs like the first single from the album "Federkleid" that shape this new album. Melodic flute playing, harp sounds and dancing rhythms open the happy dance, which climaxes dynamically and progressively in a virtuoso hurdy-gurdy solo. After a never-ending winter, summer is finally here and the bell-like voices of Fiona and Katja make this lively picture immediately appear in all loveliness before our eyes. There will also be an opulent video for the song, which will be shot in the surroundings of the Externsteine in the Teutoburg Forest, permeated with magic, stories and myths. The impressive sandstone rock formation, around 80 million years old, is one of the most remarkable natural and cultural monuments in Central Europe.'
