DescriptionBilly Idol. What more can possibly be said about his legacy, other than the fact that we should all be grateful for everything he has brought to the music industry for decades? Many old skool punk rockers do not give him proper credit, calling him a sell out and turning punk into pop. I completely disagree. Anyone who knows anything abut his true story would put that claim to rest immediately. Starting all the way from the late 1970's with his first band Generation X, up until now where he is still bringing new material to the scene at seventy years old, and still going strong is remarkable on it's own. I can tell you he has played a HUGE part in my life, since I first discovered his music way back in the beginning. He was my favorite artist for many years, and I even won a lip sync contest at the talent show for my rendition of "Rebel Yell" back in 1984. I am in tears now as I proudly announce that Billy, and of course his amazing guitarist Steve Stevens, have FINALLY been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Saying that it's long overdue is an understatement. So consider this video my tribute from a lifelong fan. Thank you Billy and Steve for the musical journey. It has been quite a ride. Rock on!
