Description
When summer travels far far south and freezing days come with winter snow, we take the horses, harness, and saddle and make the best of it. We ride out into open spaces, in Christmas card beauty of glittering white, into the orange, purple, and pink of a clear new sunset. Looking back, we witness the quiet landscape draped in a heavy load of pure white snow. The song resembles the longing for escape to hot summer days that seem to fade away with the far off sunset.
We recorded this 1957 song with Art and Karin Terpsma, on the farm in front of the wood stove, on January 3, a cold winters evening. An evening with olie-bollen and coffee.
