My name is Wilson Larrau. My academic path has gradually drawn me toward Human Resources, particularly through my interest in the work of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). At first it was simple curiosity. HR appeared to sit at the centre of how organisations function, though I realised quite quickly that the subject runs deeper than it seems.
Studying CIPD material introduced me to ideas around people management, workplace relationships and the responsibilities HR professionals carry. Some topics felt familiar straight away. Others required patience, perhaps more reading than I expected.
What keeps me interested is the human side of the discipline. Workplaces are rarely predictable. One policy might work well in one team and feel completely different in another. That unpredictability makes HR feel alive as a field of study.
I continue to learn, slowly building my understanding of how thoughtful HR practice can support both organisations and the people working within them.
