How-To Guide to Renting a Minibus
USES OF THE MINI BUS
The mini bus is used in several different ways. The most prominent use is for public transportation, church bus, Mini Bus, Limo Bus, Shuttle Bus, Wheelchair Bus, Propane Bus, 15 passenger buses are also used for transporting people with special needs. Para-transit mini buses are used at nursing home facilities, senior care communities, churches and many other organizations. Private schools as well as colleges and universities often use them for sporting events, debate trips, service projects and a variety of other events.
CONSTRUCTION OF MINI BUSES
The most prominent way that mini buses are constructed is building them out on a cut-a-way van chassis. Bus manufacturers like Starcraft, Glaval, and Berkshire Buses, also known in the industry as “body builders,” take the chassis and build the mini bus on top of it. While each manufacturer uses different processes in their construction, they all must meet a certain set of safety standards before being able to be sold to the public. The advantages of a mini bus over a 15 passenger van are many. Safety is the most important factor. Steel cage construction on the sidewalls and lower center of gravity are two important facets of mini bus construction. Comfort is another advantage over passenger vans. With a center aisle and room to be able to stand up, owning a mini bus is certainly the way to go.
